Hong Kong Tree Houses
The Hong Kong Tree Houses Series portrays the tenacious vegetation surviving in the city's compact concrete jungle. The relentless roots infiltrate the grounds, stairs, retaining walls and facades. The stubborn and perseverant weeds perforate the concrete, exploiting any gap or void to regain some territory. This body of works envisions a fantasized landscape in which trees and roots take over buildings. It celebrates Hong Kong's abrupt paradoxes where nature and architecture coexist and interact in a unique and unexpected way.
